These films are moving, inspiring and fun. After viewing them, you can’t help but feel more hopeful for humanity’s prospects.

The first annual Possible Futures Film Contest, co-sponsored by The Pachamama Alliance and FOUR YEARS.GO., was a rousing success! In all, 243 filmmakers from 44 countries participated. To select the grand winners, a team of esteemed judges screened the 20 top films in each category. The People’s Choice Award winners were selected by over 14,000 global online voters.

On Monday evening, a packed theater was treated to a screening of the top 20 films with inspiring speakers sprinkled in between. It would have been tough to find a dry eye in the house. To top off an already unforgettable evening, the award-winning films were announced!

Song Of the Spindle from Drew Christie.

Imagine a world where social and environmental justice are the norm. …Imagine a thriving relationship between humans and natural ecosystems. …Imagine a way of life where fairness extends to those of all ages, as well as to future generations.

Being able to envision a desirable future will help us get there, and these filmmakers are showing the way.
