Million-Kid March to Highlight Climate Change, Telling the World: “I Matter”

iMatter March intro from iMatter March on Vimeo.

Climate change is about our survival! From May 7-14, young people from all over the world will march to send this message. By taking to the streets, the youth of this world are declaring that we need our whole society to reduce emissions and live as if our future matters – because it does!

Climate change is the most urgent issue of our time. Our societyʼs addiction to fossil fuels is messing with the perfect balance of nature and threatening the survival of our generation. It needs to stop, and we will not sit idly by as our leaders make decisions that affect our future.

This march is for young people, along with the older people who love them. Stand up and be heard!

iMatter marches will officially begin on Mother’s Day, May 8th, 2011. Some marches occur the day before, and some take place the following weekend.

Where is the march happening?

EVERYWHERE! On the city blocks of San Francisco and the suburban parks of Philadelphia. From Beijing to Boston and Ghana to Greece. From coal plants to wind farms, from schools to malls, through main streets to capitol steps. Every march is independently organized by youth leaders and those who love them.

Click here to find out if there is a march near you. If not, start one of your own!

Creating the future we want to inhabit

Since we will inherit this world, iMatter March is reaching across regional, ideological, and ethnic borders, to empower youth to organize and be heard on the issue of global climate change. We are not only the generation who will suffer most from its consequences. We are also the generation who will bring about the change needed to create a sustainable and just society, one that values nature and future generations as much as short-term interests.

So on May 8, we will march. The youth will rise up in our communities and let the world know that climate change is not about money, itʼs not about power, itʼs not about convenience, it is about our survival. Itʼs about the future of this and every generation to come. And we are ready to do whatever it takes to change it.

We are looking for march organizers in cities all across the world. You donʼt need to have any experience in organizing anything at all. All you need is passion, commitment, and desire to change the world.

Sign up at iMatterMarch.org to lead a march in your community.

We matter.

This is our time.

Seriously? Not a march against violent acts of terrorism? Not a march against corrupt governments that drive their people into poverty and deny basic freedoms? Not a march against politicians that want to redistribute other people’s wealth? Not a march against racism, or human trafficking, or the refusal of people to save millions of African children from malaria by using the environmentally safe chemical DDT?

We’re going to march against the *weather*? Against cheap energy that lifts people out of poverty? Against a speculative future?

Yeah, someone tell me where the counter protest is and I’ll be there.

  • Jimmy

How do I join this religous group?

I want to make a few bucks fleecing these brainwashed kids?

One counter protest will be at the Canton, GA march (suburb of Atlanta). I’ll be leading it. My 10 year old will, too.

  • Charles Higley

So, they are showing that they can misinform and alarm little kids. Bravo for them!

    They should be ashamed.

Brainwashed children in a lemming march for the new green world order, unknowingly working for world wide poverty and famine in the third world, fighting a threat that only exist in computer models.. Yeah, convince the kids that the world can be run on wind farms, solar power, bio-fuel(food) and peanut butter. Where will the march end? Off from a cliff?

” . . . threatening the survival of our generation”? Factoring in unfunded American government mandates, of all types, at all levels and jurisdictions, plus an admitted $15 trillion national debt, America has a $100 trillion debt that will hit [your] generation the way that asteroid hit the Earth and killed the dinosaurs. If Alec Loorz had any brains, he would march against the debt asteroid.

The palestinians dress their children in little green bomber outfits to push their agenda of oppression of other people. The Eco Fanatics will dress their children in little green outfits to push their agenda of oppression of other people as well. Both groups goal is to kill as many people that oppose them as they can. Great, just great.

  • Wtallaksen

Wow! The Marxist indoctrination of the worlds children. George Soros is just giddy with the ownership of the Puppet in the White House! Stop the liars now or we are doomed!

Always amusing to see carbon creatures rant against the very molecule out of which they are constructed .

  • Vince

The kids should be more worried about the nutjobs that want to reduce the human population by 90%. They’re the true enemies of children everywhere.

  • Clare Verngreen

    what a load of hogwash

  • joe

we are $14 trillion in debt, but not to worry.

  • Washstatewoman

The Brainwashed little commies on the march

  • Mr_stinky

Sounds like another peadophile recruiting activity… “here kids… suck on this to stop global warming”

Oh please!!!!… what is wrong with these clowns

  • Derryq

    When’s the virgin sacrifice?

  • Adrian

Can you guys pls stop indoctrinating children? You may know that the scientific basis for AGW (quit calling it “Climate Change”, climate changes all the time, this is not what the debate is about!) is shaky at best. Sort out the science first, then draw conclusions. Anything else is pure hysterical alarmism, and abusing children as a tool for your alarmist agenda is despicable.

  • Erik

No, let’s march against the corruption of science – post normal science – cargo cult science

  • Algore

Sick, reminds me of the Nazi youth movement!

  • Gerry Pratt

This is terrible. This reflects the incredibly egregious error that says mankind is polluting the earth with “dirty” CO2. This is so blatantly false that it is becoming a serious mistake. CO2 is NOT a pollutant. CO2 is a very clean gas that we all breath out in our every breath at about 40 000 parts per million. CO2 is necessary for ALL life on earth. I emphasize here that the children should march in FAVOR of producing MORE CO2!

  • Karl Freitag

    Children’s Crusade.

  • Megahorst

My mother, who was born in 1927, told me, as school children in Nazi Germany they had to learn a song which began with the line: “Adolf Hitler liebt die Kinder …” (Adolf Hitler loves the children …).
